Terroir New Music, in collaboration with c.1949 Florida Beer Garden, is proud to present Terroir.001: Starter, a special evening of new music by local composers paired with local craft beers happening May 4, 2017 at 7:30 PM. Terroir New Music seeks to present concerts of new music in collaboration with local bars, breweries, and restaurants in order to create a unique musical and dining experience, as well as cultivate a community around local food, beverage, and music. The inaugural event will take place at c.1949 Florida Beer Garden.
“The title for this concert, starter, alludes to the culture needed to start the fermentation process of many foods and alcohols (such as sourdough bread, or solera-aged liquors),” says Terroir co-artistic director Susanna Hancock. “We find it fitting, as this concert is the ‘starter’ for what we hope is many awesome concerts, seasons, and collaborations for years to come.”
The concert will feature music by local composers Zachary Hale, Sean Hamilton, Susanna Hancock, G. Blake Harrison-Lane, Tyler Kline, and Baljinder Sekhon. Each piece of music on the program will be paired with a craft beer based on various attributes, such as title, theme, complexity, etc. The specially-curated beer menu will be revealed at the concert, but will feature all Florida-based breweries.
Admission is $25 for the concert, which includes a flight of six beers (5-ounce pours). A non-alcoholic option is $10 and includes two complimentary non-alcoholic beverages. Tickets purchased prior to the concert will include a limited-edition Terroir New Music pint glass, limited to the first 50 ticket buyers. Tickets can be purchased via Eventbrite at the following link: terroir001.eventbrite.com.
C.1949 Florida Beer Garden is located at 6905 N Orleans Ave, Tampa, FL 33604, just west of Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo. Concertgoers are encouraged to come before the concert and stay to meet the composers and performers.
