Afghan School Supplies
The husband of a USF professor is wrapping up his fourth military tour of Afghanistan, and he’s come up with a way to help the children there through a school supply drive. Now USF is getting involved, thanks to his wife, an adjunct professor at the School of Mass Communications. This week’s University Beat on WUSF-TV has more.

Nicole Johnson, Director of Education & Outreach at the USF Diabetes Center, talks about her recent trip to visit the troops in Afghanistan with fellow former Miss Americas. Nicole, a USF graduate, was Miss America 1999. Liisa, who’s currently on leave from USF, says she appreciates all the help she’s received from USF, both personally and with the school supply drive. |
