TAMPA (2011-11-28) -
One of the largest gatherings of marine scientists from around the globe is being held this week in Tampa. WUSF's Steve Newborn talks about the goals of the conference with Randall Wells, the society's president.
Wells is a conservation scientist with the Chicago Zoological Society and directs the Sarasota Dolphin Research Program for Mote Marine Laboratory. He says the goal of the Society for Marine Mammalogy’s worldwide conference is to highlight the threats to undersea mammals - as well as brainstorm ways to increase the quality of research on what lies beneath the waves.
