Got A Good Singing Voice? The Lightning Want You
|Tampa Bay Lightning|
You may sound great singing along with Aerosmith in the shower, but can you gracefully hit that high note on the word 'free' in the Star Spangled Banner?
Francis Scott Key's 1814 patriotic adaptation of an English drinking song is notoriously difficult for singers, requiring a range of at least an octave and a half.
But if you think you've got the vocal chops, the Tampa Bay Lightning would like to hear from you.
The 2004 Stanley Cup Champions are accepting audition tapes for anthem singers to perform at home games during the next season.
Plenty of Canadian teams visit Tampa during the hockey season so if you feel you could do a better job with 'Oh Canada,' the team needs some vocalists for that anthem as well. The deadline for audition tapes is Friday July 7th.
(Submissions can be sent a'cappella on cassette or CD to: 401 Channelside Dr., Tampa, FL 33602 ATTN: Hope Reep.
