Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society, August 12, 2014 Meeting Announcement
The Nature Coast Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society meets the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 PM at The Land O’ Lakes Community Center, 5401 Land O’ Lakes Blvd/US 41, Land O’ Lakes, 34639, between SR 52 and SR 54. The Community Center is located on the west side of the highway. The subject of the Tuesday, August 12, 2014 meeting is “Movie Night with Popcorn!” Join four explorers as they trek their way from the southern tip of the Florida Everglades to the Okefenokee Swamp in Georgia, covering 1,000 miles in 100 days in an effort to raise awareness about protecting wildlife corridor opportunities.
The Florida Wildlife Cooridor project is a collaborative vision to connect remaining natural lands, waters, working farms, forests and ranches from the Everglades to Georgia, protecting a functional ecological corridor for the health of people, wildlife and watersheds.
Meetings of the Chapter are free, and all interested parties are invited to attend, to bring questions about their yard, and participate in light refreshments and the native plant drawing. Telephone inquiries are taken by Sandy at (727) 376-7663.
