Matthew with a Z

Tampa Bay's favorite actor/comedian Matthew McGee brings his latest one-man show Matthew with a Z, a tribute to Liza, Paula Dean and more, to the Capitol Theatre in downtown Clearwater's Cleveland Street District on Saturday, March 2 at 7:30 pm. Tickets go on sale this Saturday, November 17 at noon at the Ruth Eckerd Hall Ticket Office.

In 1994, Matthew McGee left a tiny town in rural Georgia, said "hello" to entertainment, and has never looked back. With numerous stage appearances, voice-overs and commercials to his credit, he has become a familiar face in the Tampa Bay theater scene.

Tampa Bay audiences will recognize Matthew from his acclaimed performances at freeFall Theatre Company, American Stage Theatre Company, The Show Palace Dinner Theatre, Suncoast Aids Theatre Project (SATP) and St. Pete Opera Company. Matthew has also had the opportunity to open for showbiz luminaries such as Debbie Reynolds, Jackie Mason, Joe Piscopo and The Village People.

Matthew has won a Jeff Norton Award for Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of Dr. Frank 'n' Furter in The Rocky Horror Show at American Stage in the Park and was nominated for The Broadway World Florida Award for Best Actor in a Musical as Pluto/Shaw in freeFall's inaugural production of The Frogs. Creative Loafing also named him Most Joyous Comic Presence (Critic's Choice) in their 2012 Best of the Bay issue.
