Jazz Club of Sarasota Presents The Venturas in a "Jazz at Two" Concert
General Event Information
The Jazz Club of Sarasota's "Jazz at Two" 2012-2013 concert series continues in February with The Venturas, February 15, 2013. Named after the instrumental rock band the Ventures, the group was initially formed back in 1996 by singer-guitarist Greg Poulos, bass player and vocalist J.P. Coley and drummer Art Siegel. The trio has played a novel mix of jazz, blues and surf music since 2000. With the addition of singer Ally Couch and keyboardist Eddie Tobin in 2004, the Venturas have expanded and honed their diverse repertoire to become ongoing favorites on the local music scene.
The series, which was founded in 2001, showcases the region's top jazz performers on Fridays, 2-4 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Sarasota, 3975 Fruitville Road, Sarasota. Tickets are $7 for Jazz Club members and $12 for non-members. A portion of ticket sales is directed to the Jazz Club's scholarship program.
