Green Apple Day of Service Garden Project

The Emerging Professionals of the Florida Gulf Coast Chapter of the US Green Building Council are organizing a school garden project at Muller Elementary Magnet School as part of Green Apple Day of Service on September 28, 2013.

The Green Apple initiative is powered by volunteers who participate in community-based efforts; promoted by media partners, like-minded NGOs and high-profile ambassadors; and funded by corporate partners who contribute a portion of proceeds or make a substantial sponsorship donation and receive the right to use the Green Apple mark to show their association with and support of the Green Apple initiative.

Through the collaboration of parents, students, teachers, local organizations, and volunteers our Green Apple service project will install a global garden at Muller Elementary Magnet School to give students an understanding of plant cycles and the environment, while instilling in them a deeper admiration and respect for nature.

We are looking for volunteers eager to get their hands dirty, experienced helpers with a green thumb and gardening experience and anyone enthusiastic to learn about the benefits of growing region appropriate plants. Starting time is 8:00 a.m. Contact us!
