From Ballast Point to the Moon: A Jules Verne Tea

The Tampa Historical Society invites you to a tea party this Saturday at the Peter O. Knight House in Hyde Park. The cause celebre: Tampa's Ballast Point Park was originally named Jules Verne Park in recognition of the author’s selection of the “Tampa Town” as a likely launch site in his novel From the Earth to the Moon. Come to the party dressed up in vintage, Victorian wear and find out more fascinating tidbits about Tampa history. The Victorian Tea offers exotic blends from around the world and tasty treats to delight global palates, as well as spirits to provoke dreams of travel. Door prizes will satisfy the adventurer, and surprises, too. For adults and escorted Children over 10. Dress: Victorian, Verne Fantasy or Dressy Tea.
