Florida Wind Band Presents Patriotic Concert: “By the Dawn’s Early Light”
Tampa, Florida—On July 1, 2013, the Florida Wind Band will be performing their annual Salute to America concert, this year entitled “By the Dawn’s Early Light.” The program will contain music that honors our country, our service men and women, and the impending 237th birthday of America. During the concert, a special salute to those who have served in the military will be performed by the band, and appropriately patriotic music from the span of the two plus centuries of this land will be presented. The Florida Wind Band is a professional-level concert band that has become known as one of the finest adult bands in the United States. They are proudly affiliated with the University of South Florida School of Music.
The Florida Wind Band was founded in 2007 with the objective of being a fully professional civilian wind band. The Florida Wind Band is committed to providing high quality public performances of the very best in wind band literature, seeking to preserve the wind band musical heritage and to expand the repertoire with the premiere of new compositions. The goal of the FWB is to provide entertainment and artistic stimulation for Tampa Bay’s residents and visitors, many of whom have had experience in school bands and have known this experience to be life changing.
