Edvard Grieg: Symphonic Dances Op. 64
Throughout his career, Edvard Grieg tended to concentrate on smaller forms of music, as evident in a few of his more-popular works like the Lyric Pieces and Norwegian Dances. However, it seems towards the end of his life, the composer sought to expand himself on a larger canvas – bigger, longer works for orchestra. One of these works, perhaps the crowning orchestral achievement, was his Symphonic Dances.
