8th Annual Tampa Bay Great Books Discussion Conference

Place: Longboat Key, Florida (near Sarasota)
Venue: Hilton Longboat Key Beachfront Resort
When: January 25 – 27, 2013
What: Seeking to learn something about our lives through literature. The format is guided discussions using the “Shared Inquiry” method on the theme “America in the 1950’s: Suburbia, Conformity and Anxiety” as reflected in the acclaimed novels: Revolutionary Road - Richard Yates; The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit - Sloan Wilson; and Rabbit Run - John Updike.
Other activities: The beach is steps from your room and time will be available to visit it. Excellent shopping and dining are available at nearby St Armand’s Circle and guests are invited to participate in an arranged (but not hosted) dinner there on Saturday evening.
Cost: $249 per participant: Provides facilities and all reading material; reception & dinner w/entertainment Friday; breakfast and lunch Saturday; and breakfast Sunday. Room reservations and costs are separate and must be made by the participant. A special rate is available at $174 per night (use Group Code: grtbks). Non-participating guests wishing to attend the reception and meals may do so at an added cost of $129.00.
